Zona de Recreo was born from the transformation
of a traditional game called Balancin. It consists of a multiuser
interactive interface system that control a 3D world in real time.
The top of this structure has an embedded touch screen controller
by a system of sensors allowing the image to change according to
the amount of twist of the structure.
Conceptually we found several parameters on
which the work is based:
· This project speaks about the abandonment
of the urban infantile parks like area of entertainment and social
relation of adolescents and children in favour of the virtual spaces
of social relation: games in network, chats, etc...
In order to establish this dialogue we used
the following parameters:
1. We have adapt a device of traditional game
to the world of the new technologies. This traditional device reminds
us the urban space, like parks and recreational areas previous to
the birth of the big commercial centers of game: recreational areas,
video games machines, areas of children entertainment in shopping
center, etc.
2. Zona de Recreo also reminds
of traditional video games machines and the most contemporary areas
of social relation in virtual surroundings like chats and games
network, etc.
· This work establishes new systems
of relations by introducing the physical element in this digital
multiuser interactive game in virtual space. To physically move
the structure, to explore and navigate within the virtual pace the
participant must use their body weight. This element of personal
relation is created by the communication, interaction and negotiation
of the participants.
Zona de Recreo forces us to cooperate and participate
in group (maximum four persons) from a physical point of view. We
have to move the structure between all of us in contrast to the
present games in network, in which the collaboration is sent to
the virtual field only. Zona de Recreo unites the physical
and virtual collaboration in a new system of control of image in
movement that favours the verbal communication between the participants.
